5K Run/Walk


The Middleton GNF 5K Run/Walk 2018 is a fundraiser with the proceeds supporting the non-profit member organizations. Help us make 2018 a record breaking year. Join us for a scenic, family-friendly 5k Run or Walk through the quiet streets of Middleton and through scenic Pheasant Branch Corridor. The race will begin and end at Fireman's Park on the Festival Grounds making it easy to enjoy the festivities after the race!

Brian Finnel - Winner of Crazy Legs and Cross Country Coach of the year will be the starter this year for the Good Neighbor Fest 5K.

Course Description
Starting on the festival grounds at Fireman’s Park traveling through Middleton’s quiet Maywood neighborhood, down Columbus and on to Branch St. Cutting through the parking lot into the shady Pheasant Branch Corridor Trail (paved), crossing Park Lawn, passing under the Parmenter St and beltline bridges to a turnaround point. Up to Parmenter St, turning east on to Lee St, finishing at the festival site and Middleton Youth Hockey/Capital Brewery tent. FREE beer (or Gatorade) with your race entry! Awards ceremony will be held following the race. See course map.

Youth Activities

If you have a family with young kids, it will be a fun-filled morning with activities for toddlers and up.

Harbor Athletic Club youth staff will be offering on-site babysitting starting at 9:15 for children of parents participating in the Run/Walk! Registration will be online, first come first serve. Register at Harborathletic.com (under "register here," ages 3+, must be potty trained.) For ages 2-5, at 10:00 there will be a “Diaper Dash” led by staff from Harbor Athletic Club’s Youth Fitness program. Kids ages 6 -12 can participate in the 1K Race at 10:15 at the football/baseball practice field adjacent to the festival site. Each participant will get a completion ribbon/medal or prize. At least one parent or caregiver will need to be present at the kids' runs. No pre-registration is needed for youth runs and are free thanks to our generous sponsors Harbor Athletic Club.


In addition to the overall Male and Female finishing awards, the top 3 in each of these classes will be presented with an award: 12 & under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.

Registration Information

Individual Registration:
To register for the 5K run/walk, fill out the form online by August 22.
Race day registration starts at 8:30 am.

Team Registration:
Team registration and signed waivers should be sent to P.O. Box 620211, Middleton, WI 53562 by August 1, 2017.

Your chip is included on your racing bib.


(13 and older): Now to August 1: $25 (online registration closes midnight 8/22)
August 2-24: $30
August 25: register from 8:30 am - 8:45 am: $35
Teams of 10 or more: $20 each until August 5th.
Registration includes one free beer (must be 21 or older) and a Tech T (for first 400)
Kids 12 and under: $15.00, includes a cotton shirt.
Check with your health insurance provider as most will reimburse you for participating in this event.

Packet Pickup

August 24: Pick up or register at Fleet Feet Sports Madison, 8440 Old Sauk Road from 11 am – 2 pm, or from 5 pm -7 pm at the Good Neighbor Festival grounds. Race day pick up at the festival grounds from 8:30 am – 9:15 am.
